The Massachusetts Highway Department has awarded to S&R the 8.9 million dollar contract to replace the Route 28 Bridge over Route 213 in Methuen, MA.

The project has a temporary modular bridge to carry northbound Route 28 traffic over Route 213 while the new bridge is constructed in a multi-staged construction sequence. The multi-staged construction will allow southbound Route 28 to be maintained over the existing bridge and finally the new bridge. The new bridge has a cast in place concrete spread footing substructure. Steel framing and a cast in place concrete deck will be the superstructure.

S&R’s project team is Brian Dawley and Brad Lubenau. Contract completion date is April 25, 2011.
